UMA KRISHNASWAMI was born in New Delhi, India. She is a full-time writer who also teaches writing workshops for children. Uma loves to garden and sometimes plants orange seeds just to see what will happen. She lives in Aztec, New Mexico, with her husband, their son, and their "genius" cat Peppercorn, who can turn on faucets and open cabinets.



WINIFRED BARNUM-NEWMAN was born in Kansas City, Missouri. Her love of art began as a child and she continues to enjoy painting, sculpting, and drawing. Wini is a full-time illustrator and writer and has had many children’s books published. In her spare time, she enjoys playing piano and guitar and singing. Wini and her husband live in San Antonio, Texas.
