Della Ross FerreriDELLA ROSS FERRERI was born in Poughkeepsie, New York. She enjoys writing stories for young readers and also works part-time as a French teacher. Della lives in Hyde Park, New York with her husband and their three children, whose love of nature inspired this story.


Margaret LindmarkMARGARET LINDMARK was born in San Jose, California, and spent part of her childhood in El Salvador. Since then she has traveled to many Spanish-speaking countries, including Mexico, Costa Rica, Venezuela, and Peru. Margaret is a full-time illustrator. She lives with her husband in Greenbrae, California.
