CAROLINE HATTON was born in France after her parents moved there from their native Vietnam. She grew up in Paris and then attended graduate school at UCLA. In recent years Caroline has been writing for children. She wrote this story after a friend told her about a similar childhood experience with a pony. Caroline and her husband live near Los Angeles, California.


HIDEKO TAKAHASHI was born in Osaka, Japan. She earned her BFA at Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles and is now a full-time artist. Hideko has illustrated several books for children. In her spare time she makes eraser stamps and loves to visit bookstores. Hideko lives in Los Angeles, California.
