MIN HONG was born in Seoul, Korea, and moved with her family to the United States when she was seven years old. As a child, it was her job to cook rice every night for dinner. Min has been an elementary school teacher and is now a Staff Developer in a New York City school. This is her second book for beginning readers. She lives in Hartsdale, New York, with her husband.

GRACE LIN grew up in New Hartford, a small town in upstate New York. She is a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design and has illustrated several childrens books. She always tries to picture herself in the stories she illustrates, so sometimes the characters look like her. Grace lives in North Cambridge, Massachusetts.
