D. H. FIGUEREDO was born in Cuba and has lived in New Jersey since he was a teenager. He is currently the director of the Bloomfield College Library and is the author of WHEN THIS WORLD WAS NEW, published by LEE & LOW BOOKS. He lives in Piscataway, New Jersey, with his wife and their two children, who help inspire his writing.




HECTOR VIVEROS LEE was born in Calexico, California. He attended the Academy of Art in San Francisco and is the author/illustrator of I HAD A HIPPOPOTAMUS, and the illustrator of CAN YOU TOP THAT? and GET SET! SWIM!, all published by LEE & LOW BOOKS. Hector lives in San Francisco where he is an elementary school teacher. His hobbies include photography, jogging, and travel.
