CANDACE WHITMAN was born in New York City. She has a master’s degree in art and art education, and has illustrated more than 8 books for children. Candace loves spending time in art museums and talking with kids about art. As a native New Yorker, she has often traveled by train, which inspired her to write this story. Candace continues to live in New York City.
