UMA KRISHNASWAMI was born in New Delhi, India. She is a full-time writer who also teaches writing workshops for children. Uma has been practicing yoga for many years. Uma has also published a picture book about yoga, called THE HAPPIEST TREE, with LEE & LOW BOOKS. She lives in Aztec, New Mexico, with her husband, their son, and their "genius" cat Peppercorn, who can turn on faucets and open cabinets.

STEPHANIE ROTH was born in Frankfurt, Germany. She knew she wanted to be an illustrator since she was in second grade and wrote a story called I WANT TO BE AN ILLUSTRATOR. A self-taught artist, Stephanie has illustrated many books and magazine stories for children. She lives in Shell Beach, California, with her cat Dweezel.
