FONDA BELL MILLER was born in Greenville, North Carolina. She has degrees in elementary education and reading education and is a former Reading Recovery“teacher. After teaching for 18 years, Fonda decided to become a full-time writer. She lives in Alexandria, Virginia, with her husband, their daughter, and four pets, which include one dog, two cats, and a bird.


SHADRA STRICKLAND was born in Nashville, Tennessee. She studied fine art at Syracuse University and currently teaches art at an elementary school in Georgia. Shadra loves to read and watch movies, and she thinks of her illustrations as movies in her mind. She lives in Stone Mountain, Georgia with her mom and their two big dogs, Storm E. Weather and Fritz van Strickland.
