MIMI CHAPRA was born in Havana, Cuba. As a young girl, she loved to recite rhymes while she jumped rope, and she took up jumping rope again to help her feel the rhythm of this story. Mimi is a full-time writer. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking with her husband in the Wissahikon woods near their home in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

SELINA ALKO was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, and earned her BFA from the School of Visual Arts in New York City. Selina has been an artist since a young age, learning a lot from her father who is also an artist. She currently lives in Brooklyn, New York, where she is inspired by the sights and sounds of the neighborhoods around her.
