W. NIKOLA-LISA was born in Jersey City, New Jersey. He is the author of many popular children’s books including BEIN’ WITH YOU THIS WAY, AMEICA, and MY TEACHER CAN TEACH . . . ANYONE!, all published by LEE & LOW BOOKS. A professor of education at National-Louis University in Evanston, Illinois, Nikola-Lisa lives in Chicago with his wife.



DON TATE was born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa. He has been drawing pictures for most of his life. Don divides his time between illustrating children’s books, including LEE & LOW’s BLACK ALL AROUND!, and working as a graphic artist/reporter for a local newspaper. He lives in Austin, Texas, with his wife and their children.
