CARLA GOLEMBE was born in Boston, MA. She earned her MFA in painting from the University of Guanajuato, in Mexico. Carla is a prolific children’s book illustrator and her children’s book honors include THE NEW YORK TIMES Best Illustrated list, Parents’ Choice Picturebook Honor, and the Aesop Accolade. Living in Mexico for several years inspired Carla to write this story, and she watched her husband make tacos to capture all of the steps accurately. Carla and her husband live in Rockville, Maryland, with their two cats, Zippy and Zoe.
