A professor of education at National-Louis University in Evanston, Illinois, Nikola lives in Chicago with his wife.

HECTOR VIVEROS LEE was born in Calexico, California. He attended the Academy of Art in San Francisco and has illustrated many children's books including LEE & LOW's I HAD A HIPPOPOTAMUS, which he also wrote, and BIG SNOWBALL FIGHT, published by Bebop Books. Hector lives in San Francisco where he is an elementary school teacher.
