JAN REYNOLDS was born in Middlebury, Vermont. She earned a degree in education at the University of Vermont and went on to write about and photograph cultures from the Amazon basin to the Himalayas. Jan’s work has appeared in several publications, including The New York Times and National Geographic. She also holds the women’s world record in high altitude skiing and has attempted to fly over Mt. Everest in a hot air balloon. She lives with her husband and their two sons in Stowe, Vermont.
